I have more than 30 years of experience practicing in different areas of law. I’ve handled a wide variety of cases during that time and have extensive litigation experience. Rather than write a long narrative describing my background, I’ve listed the different jobs and positions I’ve held below.
I’m willing to consider taking on difficult and challenging cases, particularly ones that involve privacy, social media and the internet. These are new and developing areas of the law because the internet and the world wide web haven’t been with us for all that long. Cases involving these issues are challenging and require unique and innovative solutions because the facts they present don’t always fit neatly into traditional tort and contract law principles.
My clients can expect dedication, attention to detail and aggressive representation when it’s appropriate (but don’t make the mistake of believing it always is). I keep my clients constantly up-to-date with regard to the status of their case. I make a point of telling clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.
As a sole practitioner, I’ll handle your case from the initial conference to its final resolution. I’ll be the one who responds when you call or write me . We can communicate securely through the client portal on my website whenever you want to or when privacy and security is important. You can use the portal to send secure messages, check the case calendar for upcoming court appearances and events, upload and download documents and view and pay invoices.
Since I mostly represent individuals, I understand that legal fees and costs are important issues for almost everyone. I try to be as flexible as I can with regard to fee arrangements, taking into account the type of case and each client’s’ financial circumstances. Hourly fee arrangements and up front retainers are appropriate – and may be required – for some types of cases (divorce, for example). But there are other types of cases I can and will accept on a contingent fee basis. In a contingent fee arrangement, the client doesn’t have to pay to pay legal fees unless their case is successfully resolved. To the extent possible, I always explain the major costs and expenses that clients will likely incur in advance.
